WHAT ARE THE SYMBOLS OF DOCTRINE?

symbols

Scripture likens Doctrine to three things. Doctrine is likened to leaven or yeast (Matthew 16:5-12). Yeast is a silent ‘maneuverer’ in dough. It works as if it does not exist until the whole dough is leavened. A polluted doctrine pollutes the hearts of people leading to bad influences and bad outcomes. Therefore it matters so much what one feeds on in this life.

Secondly, doctrine is likened to wind (Ephesians 4:14). A child of God must be nourished to be able to stand any contrary doctrine. The child of God is seen as a tree planted by the rivers of water that is fruitful in its season (Psalm 1:3). If you are not fruitful now, you may need to check the information you listen to and yield to.

Lastly, doctrine is likened to rain in a good sense (Deuteronomy 32:2; Isaiah 55:10-11; Hebrews 6:1-9). The word of God proceeds from heaven like rain, accomplishes the purpose(s) for which it was sent before going back to the sender. In the same way, the child of God has the word in his/her heart and mouth. When we speak the word in faith to any unpleasant situations, change is bound to occur.
