The revelation of God in history
The revelation of God is evident in the history of nations and empires in the world. Their rise and fall (sometimes mysterious) shows that there is a big hand behind the scenes which is directly or indirectly responsible for these events. The scriptures below confirm the point.
Psalm 75:7 “But God is the judge: He putteth down one, and setteth up another”.
Daniel 4:32 “…the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever He will”.
Romans 13:1 “Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God”.
Acts 17:26 “And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation”.
Some other nations are also rising now because of the hand of God in the rule of these nations. God’s dealing with ancient Israel is a typical example of the revelation of God in History. However, the revelation of God in History directs mankind to God but is insufficient for man to have a personal relationship with God through knowledge. The revelation of God in nature, conscience and history are general revelations available to all mankind in every nation on earth.
