FOREST MANAGEMENT IN ECUADOR
Forest are important in conserving water, providing tourism services, providing medicinal plants, food and several other benefits.
The national forest assessment of Ecuador has been developed under three components: National forest inventory component; biomass and carbon maps; socio-economic component.
Forest data collection and analysis has been taken very serious for sustainable forest management. Data has been stored in an integrated system for qualitative and quantitative analysis and dissemination.
We also see that science and research are playing critical roles in sustainable management of forests in Ecuador.
Let us all know our forests and keep them- sustainability!
