WHY SHOULD WE BE CAREFUL ABOUT OUR HEARTS?
The heart of man, as stated in the bible, refers to the spirit of a person. As persons on earth, we are all spirits having souls and living in physical bodies. The spirit of a person who is born again makes contact with God because God is Spirit. The condition of a person’s spirit has so much impact on the soul and body. Therefore the bible states “keep thy heart (spirit) with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life” (Proverbs 4:23). This is why we should be careful about our hearts.
How far you have come in life and how far you will go depends on the state of your spirit. It is important that we are careful about what information enters our spirit through our souls (minds). The wrong information entering our spirits will produce bad outputs. To condition our spirits for progress and positive impacts in the world require the word of God and any other materials that agree with the word of God. Consciously control what information enters your spirit and you will always make progress. Let us be careful about our hearts.
