The essential attributes of God- 2

attribute_part2

The second part on the essential attributes of God include the following. God is omnipotent, meaning that, He is all-powerful. With man, somethings are possible but with God, all things are possible. God has the might to do what He pleases but this might is under His control. God has the complete privilege to rule and dispose of His creations as He wills. The following scriptures talk about the omnipotence of God.

“…..and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth (Revelation 19:6)
“…I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect” (Genesis 17:1)
“….for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created (Revelation 4:11)
“…with God, all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26)
“… and He doeth according to His will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: …(Daniel 4:35)

The last essential attributes of God is His Omniscience. God is Omniscient, meaning that God is all-knowing. God knows everything in Himself, within the universe and beyond and within every creature. Talk of things in the past, present or future- God has perfect knowledge about everything. Man has to learn to know but God does not need to learn before knowing anything. God knows everything from eternity to eternity. Being Omniscient also means, God has perfect wisdom, perfect knowledge and perfect understanding. Perfect knowledge means He accurately possesses all facts; perfect understanding means He has full perception of facts and interprets these facts in extraordinary ways. His omniscience gives Him that special privilege to judge all men (Revelation 20:11-15). God does not err and can never err in judgment (1 Corinthians 1:24-30). The following scriptures below confirm the omniscience of God.
“the eyes of the Lord are in every place, beholding the evil and the good” (Proverbs 15:3)
“can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him?” (Jeremiah 23:24)
“….His understanding is infinite”(Psalm 147:5)
“…..how much more then the heart of the children of men (Proverbs 15:11)
You may also refer to the following scriptures- 1 John 3:20; Genesis 18:18-19; Matthew 11:27; 1 Corinthians 2:11; Micah 5:2; Revelation 13:8; Acts 2:23; 2 Timothy 2:19.

God is Omnipresent, that is, He is everywhere- not limited by space or time. Beyond and above space, He is present. Space depends on God for its existence. God is present in the entire universe simultaneously.
“ ….He be not far from every one of us (Acts 17:27-28; Romans 10:6-8)
“…if I ascend to the heaven, thou are there….” (Psalms 139:7)
“… the whole earth is full of His glory…” (Isaiah 6:3)
“…the fullness of Him that filleth all in all” (Ephesians 1:23)
