PREPARE YOURSELF AND GOD WILL USE YOU!

Psalm 102: 16-17: When the Lord shall build up Zion, He shall appear in His glory. He will regard the prayer of the destitute, and not despise their prayer.

Anybody who accepts Jesus Christ as his/her personal savior becomes the temple of God. The person’s body becomes the dwelling place of God- this is awesome- that our body’s become the dwelling place of God after receiving Jesus Christ in our hearts (Revelation 3:20). God walks in us and does many things through us (2 Corinthians 6:16). In fact, the work that Jesus did on the cross restores our relationship with God Almighty because we are imputed with Holiness/Righteousness.

However, the bible also says that we should work out our own salvation with fear and trembling (Philippians 2:12). This means that although righteousness/Holiness are imputed on us spiritually, the next level requires us to live the word of God in the physical. This scenario can be likened to a new born baby. A new born baby has all the ‘template’ of an adult but needs to grow with time to become an adult. The baby needs to learn and grow in order to become a responsible adult. In the same vain, a new born Christian has to learn and grow in order to become a matured son or daughter. In other words, you should be living out your spiritual realm in the natural realm. Prepare yourself and God will use you!

Our Lord Jesus came into this world as a baby. However, to achieve His purpose on this earth, He visited the temple regularly to study the word, asked questions for clarification and fasted and prayed until the appointed time when He declared His mission on earth to the amazement of the teachers in the temple- “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; He hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord” (Luke 4:18,19).

For God to use us to do the extraordinary, we need to prepare ourselves. This is the essence of the opening scripture of this article. In our quest to be successful in any area desired, we have the responsibility to develop ourselves in a way that aligns us with God for Him to use us. To develop ourselves, we need to be students of the bible- this is fundamental. We need to discover our purpose(s)/unique character(s) and develop these. It is necessary to be prayerful always and have the passion for success and service. When we are done with preparation of ourselves, God will surely use us to achieve overwhelming aspirations. Anytime a child of God matures in the spirit and physical body, he/she becomes a vessel for service to God and humanity. In conclusion, prepare yourself and God will use you.
