Knowledge is important for the child of God
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge… (Hosea 4:6)
Most of the time, children of God suffer unnecessarily because of lack of knowledge. If one lacks knowledge about how to pray effectively; or how to support God’s work; or how to plan life; or how to excel in life etc., one will suffer in this life for nothing. Our Lord Jesus confirmed the above scripture by saying that, ‘ye do err, not knowing the scriptures….’. Knowledge is important for the child of God. All this knowledge is embedded in the Bible!
Lack of knowledge in God’s work will make one a weakling and inoperative in the kingdom of God and the life on earth.
Psalm 82:5-7 states ‘they know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course. I have said, ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High. But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes’. If you lack the knowledge of who you are in the scriptures, you may not enjoy your walk with Jesus Christ. Bible says that we are gods and children of the most High. Can you imagine how the child of a country’s president will behave if he or she is not aware of his or her status as a son or daughter of the president?
Being a child of the most High God should make us proud and confident in life. This is a revelation that comes from the Holy Ghost. When we know our place in God, we will always walk victorious in the affairs of this life because God will always manifest His character in us and through us. We will think the right thoughts and do the right things and get the right results. We will then be fulfilling Proverbs 11:9 which states that ‘…but through knowledge shall the just be delivered’.
If currently you are not experiencing the promises of God in your life, then one of the reasons may be the lack of knowledge. What you can do from now is to become a diligent student of the Bible. Meditate on what you read, confess the word of God and walk the word of God in order to build your faith (Romans 10:17). When your spirit is so much inundated with the word of God, it will produce results for you- results that will marvel the world around you.
2 Peter 1:2 ‘grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God and of Jesus Christ’. The secret of prosperity and excellence in this life is the knowledge of God’s word- many people do not know this. Knowledge is important for the child of God
