BOUND TO SUCCEED IN THIS LIFE
The quest for success is an innate character in man. Every man or woman in this world aspires to make an impact (usually positive) irrespective of the conditions in the environment. Even in the Garden of Eden, Adam had the desire to succeed therefore when Eve presented the package, he willingly ate the fruit which rather landed all of them in a bad state (Genesis 3:6). Parents would want to do their best to cater for their families. Leaders would want to do their best to achieve the goals set by a group or entity. When one is able to achieve set targets, one beams with extreme joy and the opposite happens when one’s targets are not met. Is the child of God bound to succeed in this life?
There is no aorta of doubt about the statement that, the child of God is bound to succeed. First of all, the privilege provided by Jesus for man to be saved opens the flood gates of success for the child of God (John 3:16). Salvation restores man to a better glory as a result of everlasting life. To discover what has been deposited into man’s spirit requires the study of the word of God. Jesus has overcome the world for us (John 16:33) and given us the power to succeed. Not to succeed in this life is a disappointment to God and other children of God.
The child of God is fortunate to have many qualities that were deposited in him/her after the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Ephesians 1:3 states that “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in the heavenly places in Christ”. God Almighty has already blessed us and it is our responsibility to mix the word of God with faith and bring all these spiritual blessings into the physical. The crucial question is this- how much of God’s word can we believe in order to succeed?
Let us look at Joshua 1:8 “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shall make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success” . We have the responsibility of filling our hearts and minds with the word of God (Colossians 3:16). The word has to dwell in us richly. Secondly, we got to meditate on the word always, mix it with faith and speak the word with our mouth. As we speak the word, our actions are aligned with the word and we get the result that the word talks about through the works of our hands. The result of the word of God is prosperity as mentioned in Joshua 1:8.
